Do the Right Thing Sports:

I've been thinking of this idea for quite awhile now and wonders why the alphabet networks, ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX won't do this (ok I do understand why). But give the consumers weekday network games in places which sitcoms haven't worked out for networks lately. Sports cost much less then shows do to produce and the drama is real. Sure I'm a sports fan but having a NBA game on ABC during the week like you do the NFL on Monday night would be huge. Networks use to do this in the 70-80's until they decided no more but I think it be great to have Saturday night baseball again, a hockey night in America etc etc. If ESPN can draw healthy numbers just think of a network doing so, and you could do this without conflicts of you local news. At last this is probably just another pipe dream to if I controlled the world but its something I'd love to see.

Upcoming Goals

As I review where I am current with my life I've decided there are somethings I'd like to knock out sooner than later.

- I graduated in 2008 and still haven't found a full-time job (yes the economy sucks but being an post-grad intern for the last 20 months needs to change)

- How far can I go in sports information with the late start I've seemed to got at it and should I look into changing career just so I can get a full-time job.

- Girlfriend this is something I'd really like to accomplish seeing how I've never had a serious GF in my life.

All for now and...

Latest and Greatest 08/14/10

Here is the scorecard from my summer of trying to finally getting a full-time job and shedding myself from being the nomadic intern for hire. Not that I haven't appreciated my time following my 2008 graduation from Nebraska-Kearney but after being a athletic communications assistant (really an intern) at Florida Tech and now a media relations intern at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. I'm still optimistic/hopefully something will work out before Sept. 1 and Tuesday will be another chance with another phone interview. So again the scorecard first the no's then then no's with a phone interview then the no with an on-campus interview to the haven't heard back.

No's: Wisconsin-Green Bay, Southern Utah, Winona State, Pepperdine, Evansville, UNC-Pembroke, Niagara, Wichita State, Minnesota, St. Francis (PA), Kansas, Houston, Rollins, Creighton, Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota State, Pittsburgh, Stanford, West Florida, UC Davis, Oregon State, Eckerd, City College of New York, Wofford, Arkansas

No's w/ Phone Inteview: Gonzaga, West Alabama, Western Athletic Conference (it's been three weeks +)

No's w/ On-Campus Interview: College of Saint Mary's Omaha

Still Waiting to Hear Back: Michigan State, Omaha Nighthawks, New Mexico, West Coast Conference, Iowa, Missouri Valley Conference, Iowa State, San Jose State, Pacific, UNLV, Arizona, Vanderbilt, Southern Illinois, Central Florida, Holy Family, Texas Stars (AHL)

Which brings me to Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. when I have a phone interview with the University of Oregon for another internship position but this one would be a high profile school which I'd think in 12 months would increase my chances for a full-time position. Even if it means waiting that much longer.
